So today I will tell you about the results of my testing program to restore files. After this article you'll be able to assess possible, whether to restore files from the hard drive or not.
To begin with a little theory.
In modern computer running Windows NT family of operating systems support file system, NTFS. NTFS system divides all useful (free) place on the clusters. The same goes for file systems such as FAT (OS: DOS, Windows9H, NT all versions) and FAT32 (OS: Windows98, NT5).
At the core of the hard disk based on the principle of recording / reading information in clusters. When you delete a file, a cluster or clusters, which was recorded file, marked as free and the next time you'll burn the file to your hard drive, he will write information on top of «isolated» files.
Here we actually went to the principal, a work rehabilitation programs files. It is quite simple, the program scans the cluster or a group of clusters and restores nipped information. It is because of this, the creators of such programs warn that if you have deleted important information, then you need to immediately cease all work with hard drive and load the OS from another hard drive or floppy disk.
Now that we understand the principles of the work programs of its kind, we can begin the actual testing.
For their experiment, I took two programs are: AusLogics Emergency Recovery (http://www.auslogics.com/recovery/ru/download/install_erecovery_ru.exe) and Active @ File Recovery 7.1 (http://softportal.com/freesoftware/ 2534).
To get started, I checked the program for the small text files weighing 200 kb.
Both programs are handled beautifully, but AusLogics Emergency Recovery little bit faster. When I donated the film, which had a lot of 700 MB, this time zapnulis program and restore the file for quite some time but eventually (in that time I had to go to the shop and eat) program restored file. Our AusLogics handled by 4 points (on 5-point system) has deteriorated significantly since the video quality. Unfortunately Active Recovery coped much worse by the fact that after the restoration of the file behind the sound and image has been badly damaged. As a result, only 2 points (2 for the fact that some, the program has restored)
Further checks revealed that more than 1.5 gigabytes of files, these 2 utilities can not restore.
(Running the program immediately after the removal of files, thereby creating optimum conditions for reconstruction)
Taking Stock:
In general, this article has been proved that the program to restore the files could indeed help, but as we have seen very rarely in practice, the program may indeed qualitatively restore larger files. Although I gave just 2 examples, but believe these tools are much more practically each her algorithm, so it does not need to despair if you have deleted an important document, try looking on the Internet or from friends program to restore files. And, finally, who is always looking for!
The names of programs in the article is not an advertising program by selected without any malice.
